Canadian Visitor

Thanks for your reply, and to those that emailed me personally.

I will be starting each tour in Reykjavik and driving to the tour routes:
July 8-15 between Vik and Hverageroi
July 19-26 between Reykjahlid and Sauarkrokur.

So I will have 3 days off July 16-18, and a few days off July 26-28.

I would like to take more time off, but I have heard that Iceland is very expensive, and so I fear that I couldn't afford to stay as long as I would like.

Any comments on how much it costs for food (stores, not restaurants)? I will be using a tent whenever possible, so accommodation should not be an issue.

John

Hello Fellow Paddlers,

I'm a Canadian whitewater paddler coming to Iceland in July to guide two bicycle tours, and I have arranged for 6 days off so that I can go paddle some of Iceland's beautiful rivers!

I am looking for fellow paddlers to run rivers and hit play spots. I'm a Class III-IV paddler; I mostly do playboating, though I have run many rivers and have just started creeking. I will be bringing all my own gear except for my boat (I have to bring tour bicycles instead), and I will have a 4x4 vehicle to use for 3 of the 6 days.

Please let me know if you would be interested in showing me your rivers.
