I am a whitewater kayaker in North Carolina, USA. In July, I will be visiting Iceland, and I am interested in kayaking some of Iceland's rivers. Is this possible? I would like to spend time with a few Icelanders on a river, enjoying the scenery and experiencing Icelandic rivers. Is there a group that I could kayak with? Is it also possible to borrow a kayak? I could possibly ship my gear, but I do not think that I would be able to bring my kayak to Iceland with me. I am comfortable on class IV rapids and confident in class III rapids.
